In what experts are calling a “lunatic mix-up,” astronaut Tim Nebula became the center of attention at a local supermarket after forgetting that Earth is not, in fact, the space station cafeteria.

Nebula, fresh off a six-month mission aboard the International Space Station, reportedly wandered into the town’s popular grocery store wearing his full astronaut suit, helmet and all, expecting a familiar tray setup and the classic “Mystery Meat Monday” menu. When he reached the deli counter, Nebula asked boldly for “the usual space tacos with a side of zero-gravity guacamole,” leaving staff and shoppers utterly baffled.

“I thought he was some kind of performance artist or maybe an alien trying to blend in,” said Jane Butterworth, the deli assistant who served him. “I mean, who orders space tacos at a local supermarket?”

Things took a stranger turn when Nebula, apparently experiencing space-brain, attempted to swipe an unidentified item from the frozen foods aisle, mistaking it for a ration pack. Store security was called but quickly realized there was no threat—just a very confused spaceman who needed a bit of runway back to reality.

“I honestly forgot that on Earth, we don’t eat the same mystery meals or use floating trays,” Nebula admitted sheepishly. “I kept looking for the magnetized table surface to hold my food in place.”

The event has sparked a wave of online memes, with some poking fun at Nebula’s inability to adjust to Earth’s “no gravity, no glory” rules, and others sympathizing with how tough the re-entry to normal life can be after long space missions.

Local officials have since offered Nebula a lifetime discount at the supermarket’s deli counter — on the condition he sticks to the Earth menu and leaves the helmet at home.

Meanwhile, NASA is reportedly considering adding a “Keep Earth Eats Earthly” briefing to future astronaut training to prevent future culinary cosmic confusions.
